Sam Wyly Named One of Forbes' 10 Greenest Billionaires

Sam Wyly has been named to Forbes' list of the "World's 10 Greenest Billionaires," recognizing those who "are most active in green, sustainable causes and who are working to have the greatest impact" on the environment.

Forbes notes that Mr. Wyly's "Maverick Capital was a large investor in Green Mountain Energy Company, a provider of cleaner energy and carbon offset solutions." Green Mountain has developed almost 40 wind and solar renewable facilities in the United States. Wyly is also recognized for creating the Green Bull Fund, which seeks to invest in companies delivering "efficient clean energy solutions."

The "greenest billionaires" list also includes such names as Israeli billionaire and Carnival Cruises heiress Shari Arison; Silicon Valley billionaire Vinod Khosla; Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin; and Germany's Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis.
