The Wylys' generosity has greatly supported a number of local initiatives and national agencies benefiting health and social services.

Sam has been a continuing supporter of Friends of Katy Trail, a bike and pedestrian highway that serves the greater Dallas community. Charles and Dee are longtime supporters of The Family Place, a Dallas center aimed at preventing family violence. In 2002, the Wylys donated more than $100,000 in support of this facility and its mission.

More recently, in 2005, Sam and his wife, Cheryl, donated $600,000 in support of a Colorado animal shelter. The Cheryl and Sam Wyly Animal Shelter is expected to become a leading facility in the area of animal care and protection.
