In 2001 and 2002, Sam launched high-profile proxy fights against CA (formerly Computer Associates). His aim was to bring about positive reform and change with respect to the company's accounting practices. The investment firm he founded, Ranger Governance, Ltd., has since been at the forefront of litigation that seeks the return of ill-gotten gains from the company's former and current officers and directors. Sam has been recognized as the driving force behind efforts to expose wrongdoing and corruption at CA, which abused employees, customers and shareholders. His efforts to pursue positive change at CA have not only helped spearhead sweeping reform at the company, but have caused the company to pursue restitution from the wrongdoers. Several former CA executives have paid millions of dollars in restitution and all but one of the company's incumbent directors have been replaced. |
